Our deepest prayers and thoughts go out to our many BOKS Members families and friends who were devastated by Victorian Bushfires on last Saturday. To make a donation to the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Appeal Fund go to www.redcross.org.au or call 1800 811 700.
We all want to do more besides donating money,
Quilters in Sydney are making Quilts for the Victms.
We would love you to Start Making Care Bracelets for the victims - we all have heaps of beads and memory wire in our stashes - just make 3 turn bracelets - everyone can make these - there are so easy. (memory wire is like a slinky, cut off on the third turn, fold over one end add beads to the end, then turn end over, bracelet complete)
Mail them into Boks we will wrap them and we will forward them on to the affected areas hope to send one big parcel each week - please pass this message onto other Beady people. Many thanks to the Ladies who have sent us Bracelets in already
So lets make heaps of pretty bracelets for these poor Women who have lost everything.

Currently over 650 bracelets have been sent down to Whittlesea.
Postmistress Gwenda White - lovely lady - is handing them out to the ones who have truely lost everything - as they come into the post office - she has also distributed bracelets to the other Post Offices in the area who were affect by the fire - in turn they have been handing them out to their victims.
I spoke to Gwenda today (12/5/08) - she sends a big thank you to all the ladies who have made the Jewellery and wants to let you know how appreciative the people that she gave them too were - it really lifted their spirits to know that someone thought of them to make something that would be theirs to keep. Gwenda sends hugs and kisses to all of you from the receivers of the Bracelets.
